FREE FAFSA Night - Thursday, October 12, 2017
A FREE FAFSA Night will be held on Thursday, October 12, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM in the Speedway High School library. Guidance staff along with staff from INvestED will be on hand to provide help filing the FAFSA and answer any questions.
PSAT/NMSQT - Wednesday, October 11, 2017
On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, all sophomore and junior students will take the PSAT/NMSQT test from 8:00AM-11:20AM in various locations including the cafeteria, wrestling room, and library. Breakfast will be served early on testing day from 7:15AM-7:45AM.
The PSAT is a preliminary SAT that measures evidence-based reading and writing and math skills. The exam focuses on the knowledge, skills, and understandings that research has identified as the most important for college and career readiness and success.
Sophomores and juniors have received PSAT information, as well as a free practice test booklet. The cost of the PSAT is covered by state, so there is no charge to students.
Financial Aid Night - Thursday, September 28, 2017
The Speedway High School Guidance Department will host its annual Financial Aid Night on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 6:30 PM in the high school cafeteria. The meeting is geared toward senior parents and their students, but all are welcome. A financial aid director from Butler University will explain the financial aid process and cover topics pertaining to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); federal and state grants; student and parent loans; and how colleges and universities determine student eligibility. If your student plans to pursue any type of post-secondary education, you are particularly encouraged to attend.
